How to set up and use Divi Design Notes

How to set up and use the plugin: #

After activating the plugin, navigate to the front end of the page where you want to add a Note. In the black WordPress admin bar at the top of the screen, you’ll see a “Divi Design Notes” option. Click it to enable Notes on that page.
Once Notes are activated, the Notes panel will appear on your screen. You can expand or collapse it using the arrow icon at the top, and freely drag it to reposition it anywhere on the page.

On your Notes Panel you can: #

  • – Add a new Note
  • – Filter Notes to display only Active or Resolved ones (Resolved Notes are considered Non-Active)
To create a new Note, click “Add New Note” from the Notes Panel, then click anywhere on the page where you want to place it. A text box will appear — type your note, then choose to either Post or Cancel it.

On an already posted Note you can: #

Post New Comment – Add a new comment to the selected note.
Mark as Resolved – Close the note for further comments. The note’s color will change to indicate it’s resolved.
Restore – Reopen a resolved note and make it active again.
Trash Note – Move the note to the Trash.

You can mention a user in your note using @username — the mentioned user will receive an email notification with that note. Additionally, the WordPress administrator email will receive notifications for all notes and note replies posted on the website.

Giving permissions to use notes #

All administrator users have access to Notes by default.
As an administrator, you can also grant permission to other users to use Notes.

To do this, go to the user’s profile in the WordPress admin area, scroll to the bottom of the page, and check the option labeled Allow Divi Design Notes.
After saving the changes, that user will have permission to add and manage Notes.
