Generating and Managing Coupon Links #
Once you’ve published a discount rule, you can generate unique coupon codes and shareable links. You can then share these links with customers through email campaigns, messages, or other marketing channels.
1. Generate a Coupon #
To generate a coupon manually:
1. In your WordPress dashboard, go to Divi Coupon Links → Generated Coupons.
2. Click Generate Coupon at the top of the page.
3. Select the discount rule you want to use.
4. Optionally, enter the subscriber’s email address for your records.
5. Click Generate Coupon.
The plugin generates a unique coupon code and its corresponding discount link. You can copy the link and share it wherever you promote your offer.
If the selected rule is missing required information, the plugin displays an error and no coupon is created.
2. Copy and Share a Discount Link #
After generating a coupon, you’ll receive a link you can copy and share with your customers.
You can also find previously generated links by going to Divi Coupon Links → Generated Coupons.
The list includes the following information:
• Code — The generated coupon code.
• Product — The product associated with the discount rule.
• Subscriber — The email address entered when the coupon was generated, if provided.
• Link — The shareable discount link. Click the field to select the full link for copying.
• Discount — The offer associated with the coupon, such as 10% or Buy 1, get 1 @ 100% off.
• Generated — The date the coupon was created.
• Expires — The expiration date, or Never if the coupon doesn’t expire.
• Status — Whether the coupon is active, used, or expired.
You can share a link directly with a customer or include it in your email marketing campaigns.
3. Understand Coupon Statuses #
Each generated coupon has one of three statuses:
• Active — The coupon is available for use.
• Used — The coupon has reached its usage limit.
• Expired — The coupon is past its expiration date.
The status helps you see which coupons are still available and which are no longer usable.
4. Delete a Generated Coupon #
You can delete generated coupon entries individually or in bulk using the standard WordPress row actions and bulk actions.
Important: Deleting a generated coupon entry also trashes or deletes the associated WooCommerce coupon. Its discount link will no longer work. If you restore the generated coupon entry from the Trash, the associated coupon is restored as well.
You don’t need to locate or delete the WooCommerce coupon separately.
Before deleting an entry, make sure you no longer need the coupon or its link.
Important: Editing a Discount Rule #
A generated coupon keeps the settings of its discount rule from the time it was created.
If you later change the rule’s discount amount, expiration period, or other settings, existing coupons and links remain unchanged. Only coupons generated after the update use the new settings.
If you need to change an offer, edit the rule first and then generate new coupons.
What’s Next? #
You can automate coupon generation by connecting a discount rule to a Divi Email Optin form. This lets you generate a unique discount link when someone subscribes and pass it to your email marketing provider.
